My summer was type "aight." Actually, I've been more than blessed. I can't elaborate on the reasons, but the one thing I've dealt with is writer's "block," which I will term 'vyzziblock' and use interchangeably.
Vyzziblock: An artist's vision block or writer's block. A term used to describe the artist's state of motivation or plausible state of mind during art-forming.
Vyzziblock can be the artist's perpetual condition if we let it. To me, it means I have locked or have blocked myself. There are a myriad of reasons your vision for your art can be blocked.
If you allow yourself to be blocked, you may have unfinished business in your peripheral cognizance. Can be a dozen things. Blocks can be inner, outer or a combination of the two.
How do you over come it? I don't know exactly, I can tell you what I have tried. First, I try to let blocks exist as minimally as possible for me as an artist, I see blocks as art that's trying to make sense.
That's one way I deal with it. No matter what obstacles I face, I cannot consider that God gave me my art and talents just so I can block my own vision and its the same way for you.
Suppose my block insists, its going no where, and no matter what...I will be blocked. Nothing will come out. No art, no words...blank, to that...I'll um.....go ahead and wait for it to comprehend in whatever way it can, that humanity cannot be blocked or stalled.
If we could be and that was the case, none of us would be here. One reason for this is the volatility of our existence. In my opinion we are not designed to be held back as a race no matter what you perceive, but possible, maybe some times to be delayed.
If I belong to the human race and I do (until my father the LORD GOD takes me), and have all the human attributes, then that means, a block has no power over me. You can let this philosophy work for you but at the end of the day talk is cheap, you have to find your own system.
There are many systems out there but words and talk are guides, you have to pull freedom from blocks out of yourself, no one can do it for you. Its your art after all.
Once you are free to think this way or you have come a long enough way where blocks can no longer apply to your state of mind, then you have un-locked just a smaller part of the fraction you thought you had figured out.
The truth of the matter is life enjoys throwing the blocks and challenges at you so it can watch you chicken out. Blocks hope you fail so it can win. If you are the artist of your own destiny, then a vyzziblock should only slow you down temporarily or not at all, but do acknowledge it as its there for a reason.
You do not need to acknowledge the reasons as much as you need to acknowledge the block itself first. Just remember not to let your blocks become apart of your make-up, or you risk making vyzziblock a habit.
Here is the other thing about vyzziblock. Can you believe it can actually be a good thing? If you find it to be a frustration, it's because you have somehow elected not to listen to your art, your inner-self and what it's trying to tell you.
Vyzziblock can creep right up on you. Its like a feeling you get where you think, or perceive you have nothing to give for the moment. I assure you it's the furthest thing from the truth, because if you are apart of the human genetic code, then you know there is always always something for you to give.
Blocks can be multilayered, meaning you can't find exactly which block is preventing your art from shining. When you find that patches are missing from your glory, leave it alone. Its just not ready for you, or you aren't ready for it, or it's not meant for you.
You can piece together as many strings in the universe of your life as you can, but if you find there are missing pieces, why chase them? Its your life, if its ready for you, it will come back to you with extra lessons.
Over coming blocks can take time, breakthroughs can surface at any time, it just means you should move away for the time being and deal with a more readily accepting version of yourself, then make that be your break through for your block.
In turn, you are led through journey after journey until you find your way back to what matters the most. You, and what you've got going that takes you into what I like to call "positive vibes."
My name is Tracy and welcome to my site and blog page. Thanks for stopping by. On this page I will try to catalogue some things or pivotal moments I feel have made me who I am. There may even be moments that are not so pivotal but more like a muse, a funny memory or otherwise. Be warned though, I may take things off, I may re-edit or remove things. If you happen to read something and it isn't here anymore, its because I am either re-editing, or getting ready to add something else. Also, some of the things I say on here may be understandable and some may not, and sometimes I may not blog or add anything for a while. It's okay with me if you don't understand me or what I write, I mean no ill will in my words or what I write so don't take it personal if it offends you that's just not my aim. My blog or this page is created for me, and for my fans or anyone who wants to come on here and read what I write.
